The Bling! Bling! series reflects the material world through accessories that represent vanity, greed and earthly pleasures. This work is inspired by the vanitas genre of paintings from the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. 'The term vanitas itself refers to the arts, learning and time. The word is Latin, meaning "emptiness" and loosely translated corresponds to the meaninglessness of earthly life and the transient nature of vanity'.
These images reflect the vanities of those who seek to adorn themselves with luxurious accessories in order to show their status of power and wealth, but cannot afford the real gold jewelry but only the fake imitation gold. The term itself is 'an idiophone (a sound intended to evoke an idea) of the act of jewellery shining'. The Bling! Bling! series is thus a double fantasy: the image simulates a still life of accessories that simulate wealth.
 

La serie Bling! Bling! refleja el mundo material por medio de prendas que representan la vanidad, la codicia y los placeres terrenales. Ella toma su referencia de las vanitas, género de pintura simbólica de los siglos dieciséis y diecisiete. 'El término vanitas en sí se refiere a las artes, el aprendizaje y el tiempo. La palabra es Latín y significa ‘vacío’, que traducido libremente corresponde al sinsentido de la vida terrenal y la naturaleza transitoria de la vanidad'.
Esta serie refleja las vanidades de aquellos que buscan adornar sus cuerpos con prendas lujosas, para demostrar así un estatus de poder y riqueza, pero no tienen los medios para adquirir las prendas de oro real sino solo las piezas falsas de imitación de oro. El termino en sí es un 'ideófono (sonido destinado a evocar una idea) del acto de brillar de una joya'. La serie Bling! Bling! es así una doble fantasía: la imagen simula un bodegón de prendas que simulan riqueza.
