The video Eol Gul (Face) (1’16”) shows a close-up of a hand that slowly draws a circle. A female voice (my mother’s) sings a traditional Korean song:

I try to draw a circle

But I end up drawing a face

Your face brings me back to that pure and white dream we once had, 

Remembering your sparkling eyes, 

Like morning dew on a leaf. 

Round and round

Your face lingers around me only to vanish in thin air.

 

The nostalgic tone, melody and lyrics, as well as the idea of a face that disappears, alludes to the indefinite and evasive figure of identity. A hand draws a circle that disappears and the cycle repeats itself continuously. The circle represents the infinite and repeats itself infinitely in a constant process of creation and disappearance.

El video Eol Gul (el rostro) (1’16”) muestra una mano en primer plano que dibuja lentamente un círculo. Una voz femenina (mi madre) canta una canción tradicional coreana:

 

Intento dibujar un círculo, 

Pero termino dibujando un rostro

Tu rostro me lleva a ese sueño puro y blanco que alguna vez tuvimos

Recordándome tus ojos que brillan 

como el rocío de la mañana en una hoja de hierba.

Tu rostro gira alrededor mío solo para desaparecer en el aire.

 

El tono nostálgico de la melodía y letras y la idea de un rostro que desaparece hace alusión a la figura no definida y esquiva de la identidad. La mano dibuja un círculo que se desdibuja y se repite continuamente el ciclo. El círculo representa lo infinito y se repite infinitamente en un proceso constante de creación y desaparición.
