Screening of Dictée/Exilée at the Inaugural Loop Lab Busan (April 24–26, 2025) with Sorondo Projects
My video work Dictée/Exilée was featured in the inaugural edition of Loop Lab Busan, held from April 24 to 26, 2025, at the Grand Josun Busan Hotel. Presented by Sorondo Projects, this piece was part of a dynamic program that brought together international and local galleries, highlighting the evolving landscape of video and media art.
Loop Lab Busan marks the Asian debut of the renowned Loop Barcelona platform, introducing a unique blend of festival, fair, and forum dedicated to artists’ video and media art. Organized in collaboration with A-Fluxion, the Busan Museum of Art, and Busan Metropolitan City, the event aimed to position Busan as a pivotal hub for contemporary art in Asia .
The fair featured over 25 galleries from cities including Barcelona, Berlin, Istanbul, London, New York, and Seoul, presenting works that spanned experimental video, digital installations, and AI-driven art.
Beyond the fair, Loop Lab Busan extended into a city-wide exhibition program across more than 20 venues, alongside a forum that facilitated discussions on topics such as “Collecting Media Art” and “Art and Capital,” exploring the intersection of art, technology, and society .
As part of this presentation, I’m also sharing a revised text by writer Ju Ly Ban, originally written in response to the 2024 performance of Dictée/Exilée at Americas Society in New York. In this new version, she expands her reflection through the lens of Junyoung Verónica Kim’s essay, “Asia–Latin America as Method”, weaving together ideas of dislocation, kinship, and transcontinental identity.
The revised text is now available in English, Spanish, and Korean, offering multiple entry points into the layered experiences the work engages with.
